Spain, October 29, 2025. Veolia Spain, a leading company in ecological transformation, and Manglai, the innovative software platform for sustainability management, have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to co-develop and commercialise advanced technological solutions for measuring and managing the water footprint.
In a climate context marked by increasingly frequent droughts, industries in Spain need to calculate and monitor their water footprint to ensure sustainable water management and comply with reporting regulations. Reporting on these indicators guarantees transparency and regulatory compliance, and also helps anticipate risks and strengthen business resilience. In addition, the use of digital platforms based on artificial intelligence enables the automation of data collection and analysis, achieving up to 40% savings in work hours and facilitating a more agile and efficient integration of sustainability into corporate strategy.
This alliance combines the expertise of both companies to create a revolutionary tool that will transform the way organisations measure and manage their water impact. Veolia will contribute its technical and methodological knowledge, recognised worldwide, to ensure that the tool meets the highest precision standards and aligns with international regulations such as the ISO 14046 standard. Manglai, in turn, will contribute its agility and experience in software development and artificial intelligence to create an intuitive, scalable and easy-to-integrate solution. The solution will be available worldwide and is expected to be ready for implementation by the end of the year, offering organisations across all sectors an innovative tool to strengthen their sustainability strategies.
As an illustrative example, the collaboration between Veolia and Manglai will allow a client who traditionally calculated their environmental impact indicators manually, investing a significant amount of time and resources, to transition to a fully digitised and automated process. This change will provide a more robust and consistent assessment, with less uncertainty, while freeing up valuable staff hours. As a result, the client will be able to allocate more resources to other strategic initiatives, accelerating the achievement of their environmental goals.
"The goal is to offer the market a unique, cutting-edge digital tool that allows companies across all sectors to calculate, analyse and reduce their water impact efficiently and accurately, driving their sustainability strategies," stated Juan Antonio Guijarro, director of Water Solutions at Veolia in Spain. "This collaboration with Manglai allows us to digitise our expert knowledge and offer our clients a comprehensive solution that combines cutting-edge technology with our strategic support to achieve water neutrality."
"We are excited to partner with a global leader like Veolia. Their validation and knowledge of the water sector are crucial to developing a product that is not only technologically advanced but also perfectly aligned with the real needs of the market," stated Andrés Cester Robert, representative of Manglai. "Together, we will make water footprint management accessible, accurate and strategic for any organisation."
This strategic alliance represents a significant step toward the automation of water footprint calculation, providing organisations with the tools they need to face the challenges of climate change and transition toward a more sustainable and resilient business model.
Veolia is the reference company for ecological transformation, designing and deploying useful and practical solutions for water, waste and energy management.
